The aid construction work for Xinjiang and Xizang is a major strategic decision made by our country's central government based on the overall reform and development and the overall modernization drive. However, in the work of counterpart support for Xinjiang, the Shanghai Xinjiang Aid Command found that: Due to the unique climate, geological and hydrological environment of southern Xinjiang, such as high salt and alkali content in the soil, large evaporation capacity, long light time, strong destructive power of ultraviolet on the coating, large temperature differences between day and night and seasons, and extreme climates such as strong winds and sandstorms, etc. As a result, the exterior wall coatings of many aid projects are unable to be used in southern Xinjiang. After construction, the coatings quickly fade, peeling, warping and peeling, which has a significant negative impact on the engineering quality of Shanghai's Xinjiang aid projects and the image of the government.
In order to solve the general problems arising from exterior wall coatings in aid construction projects, entrusted by the Shanghai City Counterpart Support Xinjiang Work Front Command, Shanghai City Housing Security and Housing Administration Bureau established the project of "Research and Application Project Pilot on the Applicability and Durability of Exterior Wall Coatings in Shanghai Aid Construction Projects." Led by Shanghai City Real Estate Research Institute, Tongji University and Shanghai Huibang Special Coatings Co., Ltd., we will give full play to Shanghai's technological advantages from the research perspective of "industry, learning and research." In-depth research and resolution of exterior wall coating problems arising from the Xinjiang aid project have been achieved, and a number of innovative technical achievements have been achieved, which has successfully solved the application problems of exterior wall coatings in southern Xinjiang, reshaped the positive image of Shanghai's aid construction project, and promoted The healthy development of the architectural coatings industry in southern Xinjiang plays a key leading role. The Shache County Graphic Information Center, one of the pilot projects, won the first Luban Award in southern Xinjiang.

  1. Developed an exterior wall coating system with excellent overall performance suitable for application in southern Xinjiang
    On the basis of accurately grasping the climatic and geological characteristics of southern Xinjiang and the development level of the local architectural coatings industry, the project team combined specific engineering projects and proposed clear indicators for each component of the exterior wall coating from both technical and economic aspects., the compatibility of the coating with the base layer and between each coating is optimized, so that the coating system can give full play to its respective contributions, and ultimately formed an alkali resistance, salting-out resistance, An exterior wall paint coating system with excellent overall performance that has made major breakthroughs in stain resistance and aging resistance and is economically appropriate.
  2. Build an overall optimization plan for the coating system that integrates materials/construction/acceptance in southern Xinjiang
    Aiming at the actual situation that local coating products and construction technologies in southern Xinjiang are generally lacking in pertinence, this project builds an overall construction plan integrating material control, construction plan, process method and quality acceptance requirements according to local conditions. It plays a very important role in forming a coating system with qualified quality. The overall plan consists of three aspects: 1) Comprehensive coating system for exterior wall coatings (including alkali-resistant primers, protective coatings, top coatings, etc.);2) Design requirements for the coating system (including foundation soil replacement, foundation material selection, waterproof and drainage structure,"two base and two coating" measures adopted in some areas, etc.);3) Coating system construction and acceptance requirements (including grassroots treatment plans, original coating repair plans, new coating finishing plans, etc.).
  3. Released Uyghur version of technical guidelines for exterior wall coating construction suitable for southern Xinjiang
    In addition to the "turnkey" project aided by Shanghai, the scientific research results of this project are also widely used in the painting project of local housing and enriching the people. In order to make it easier for local Uyghur compatriots to learn, understand and use it, the project team translated the "Technical Guidelines for Exterior Wall Paint Finishing in Shanghai's Support for Xinjiang's Kashgar Prefecture Aid Projects", one of the scientific research results of this project, into Uyghur version to make it easier to promote and use locally.
    The project has edited 3 application technical guidelines and 3 construction methods, all of which have been promoted and implemented in southern Xinjiang; applied for 2 invention patents and obtained 2 authorizations; published 1 paper; and compiled 1 Uyghur version guide.
    This project was inquired by the Shanghai Institute of Science and Technology Information and found that the overall technical level has reached international advanced.
