Cyclic sulfites and cyclic sulfate products are an important pharmaceutical intermediate and electrolyte additives for lithium batteries. Adding cyclic sulfites and cyclic sulfates to the electrolyte can form a dense SEI protective film on the electrode surface (especially the negative electrode), which helps to improve the cycle life and overall performance of lithium batteries. Recent research shows that it can improve the high-voltage cycling performance and high-and low-temperature performance of lithium batteries. It is an excellent electrolyte additive.
This project can produce a series of cyclic sulfite and cyclic sulfate products, including vinyl sulfite (ES), propylene sulfite, 1,4-butanediol sulfite, etc., vinyl sulfate (DTD), propylene sulfate, 1,4-butanediol sulfate, etc. With a full set of production technology, the quality of the products produced reaches battery level and meets the requirements of lithium battery production. The product purity is 99.8%, and the moisture is 100ppm. This technology has the characteristics of simple raw materials, high yield, good quality, and recyclable solvent. 1 invention patent has been authorized.

The main technical contents involved in this project include: cyclization reactions and catalytic oxidation reactions. Specific processes include cyclization reaction process, preliminary purification process of cyclization products, catalytic oxidation process, product purification post-treatment process and product analysis and testing methods.

The main undertaking unit of the project: Fujian Institute of Material Structure, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China, is an A-level institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences. It is an internationally influential comprehensive research base for structural chemistry, new materials and device integration and application. The Institute has established a number of R & D platforms related to new energy materials and devices, including the Key Laboratory of Chemistry and Physics of Optoelectronic Materials, Chinese Academy of Sciences, a major R & D platform for power storage materials and their application technologies in Fujian Province, and the Engineering Technology R & D Center for Key Materials of Power Battery in Fujian Province. It has relatively complete research and development equipment, establishes relatively complete product analysis and testing systems and performance characterization methods, and has a complete lithium-ion battery production and testing research platform and advanced analysis and testing instruments and methods. It has undertaken a number of national key R & D plans (the Ministry of Science and Technology's new energy vehicle pilot project), the 973 Plan, the Chinese Academy of Sciences 'nano-pilot project (long-life power lithium batteries), the Chinese Academy of Sciences' industry-local cooperation project, and the major science and technology projects of Fujian Province. Breakthroughs have been made in lithium ion battery electrode materials, functional electrolytes, functional additives, etc., and more than 10 invention patents have been obtained.
