The NuPAC Reactor Protection System is a high-reliability digital protection system platform developed by China Nuclear Self-Instrument Systems Engineering Co., Ltd. based on field programmable gate array (FPGA) technology, has independent intellectual property rights, and meets the requirements of large nuclear power plants. It can be used in nuclear power plants, high-end industrial control fields such as high-speed railways, aerospace, and government procurement. The NuPAC Reactor Protection System passed the review of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and China Nuclear Safety Administration (NNSA) in 2016, becoming the world's first nuclear power plant reactor protection system platform to pass administrative licensing by the Chinese and US government nuclear safety supervision agencies.  Characteristics and innovations of NuPAC reactor protection system: 1. The new generation of nuclear safety-level instrument and control system platform developed based on field programmable gate array (FPGA) technology has unique system structure design that comprehensively improves safety, reliability, testability and verifiability;2. When the system is running, hardware is configured to realize various computing functions, and the logical functions are highly deterministic; there is no operating system and software, which reduces the risk of possible software common cause failures;3. FPGA chip parallel processing is used to realize the computing functions required by the protection system, which can be implemented in 1~Complete logical processing within 2 milliseconds;4. Using FPGA technology based on hardware circuits, the circuit cannot be changed during the operation of the system, which can effectively resist viruses or artificial network attacks and provide better information security for the system;5.
