Key innovations
Innovatively utilize waste polymers and inorganic wastes to replace traditional road materials, significantly improve road performance and life, and effectively eliminate solid waste to achieve environmental protection and economic benefits.
Potential economic benefits
This technology reduces highway maintenance costs, extends road service life, and significantly improves return on investment. At the same time, by consuming solid waste, resource utilization is realized, environmental treatment costs are reduced, and new economic value is created.
Potential climate benefits
Using waste materials to replace native resources can reduce mining and production energy consumption. Extend road life, reduce maintenance, reduce material consumption and construction emissions. Treat solid waste to avoid carbon emissions from its disposal.

Solution details

In response to the large demand for polymer materials and natural stone in highway construction, and combined with the environmental and social problems caused by the inability to effectively utilize solid waste, this project systematically carried out the following research: 1. High-performance asphalt composite modification based on polymer waste materials Research on technology;2. Research on natural stone substitution technology based on inorganic non-metallic waste materials.

The results achieved by this project have been promoted and applied in some expressways in Shandong Province. The research results can improve the quality of expressway operation and services, extend the service life of pavement structures, and reduce pavement maintenance costs; at the same time, it provides a new way to eliminate bulk solid waste materials and effectively solves environmental pressure.
