Key innovations
This technological innovation lies in developing efficient strengthening methods to solve the problem of low quality recycled aggregate, and to achieve 100% recycled coarse aggregate to prepare high-performance concrete kerbs, which meets stringent standards and has significant environmental value.
Potential economic benefits
This technology efficiently uses construction waste to prepare recycled concrete kerbs, which can significantly reduce waste treatment costs and natural aggregate mining costs, and save resources. The products meet national standards and are market competitive. They can create new economic growth points for enterprises, reduce the cost of construction engineering materials, and have considerable economic benefits.
Potential climate benefits
This technology uses construction waste to prepare recycled aggregate, reduces energy consumption for natural aggregate mining and transportation, reduces waste landfill, and thereby reduces overall carbon emissions.

Solution details

In view of the complex composition of construction waste and the low quality of traditional recycled aggregate, the project proposes a method for strengthening recycled aggregate, develops environmentally friendly and efficient strengthening technology for recycled aggregate, and uses Class I, Class II and Class III recycled coarse aggregate to replace ordinary aggregate to prepare recycled aggregate. Reclaimed concrete reveals the influence rule of recycled aggregate quality on the performance of recycled concrete, and optimizes the series mix ratio of recycled concrete for concrete curb stones. The properties of recycled concrete kerbs comply with the relevant provisions in "Concrete kerbs"(JC/T 899-2016): the water absorption rate should be less than or equal to 6%; in severe cold areas, all types of kerbs should undergo D50 freeze-thaw cycles. After testing, the mass loss rate should be less than or equal to 3%. When deicing salt is used in winter in severe cold areas, the mass loss rate of various types of curb stones after D28 salt freezing resistance tests should be less than or equal to 1.0 kg/m2, the mass loss rate of a single specimen should be less than or equal to 1.5kg/m2。
