Solution details

The anaerobic ammonia oxidation process used in this technology is an emerging nitrogen-containing wastewater treatment technology in recent years. It is one of the most economical and concise biological denitrification processes at present, and is very suitable for the treatment of wastewater with low carbon to nitrogen ratio and high ammonia nitrogen. The basic principle of anaerobic ammonia oxidation is that under anoxic conditions, microorganisms directly use NH4 + as an electron donor and NO2-as an electron acceptor to convert ammonia into nitrogen. Anaerobic ammonitridation generally pre-empts a short-cut nitrification process to convert part of the ammonia nitrogen in wastewater into nitrite. Compared with traditional biological denitrification technology, anaerobic ammonia oxidation technology does not require aeration, alkalinity compensation, and organic carbon source is not required, thus saving a lot of energy and materials, and significantly reducing wastewater treatment costs. Compared with traditional denitrification processes, this technology can save more than 60% of energy consumption and reduce excess sludge production by 70%.
