Solution details

This project belongs to the field of agriculture and forestry. Essential oils extracted from aromatic plants are one of the important sources of economic benefits for the industry. Many aromatic plant producing areas in my country have problems such as loss and degradation of existing varieties, blind introduction of new varieties, and lack of germplasm resource evaluation systems. At the same time, due to the limitations of cultivation and oil extraction technology, the extraction rate and quality of essential oils are not ideal. Currently, they are mainly exported as primary raw materials, with low profits and huge import demand. Compared with countries developed in the aroma industry such as Britain, France, and Japan, my country lacks research on the function and safety of aromatic plants, and its utilization of technical means are relatively simple, resulting in low added value to the overall economy of the industry. In response to the above issues, the project has carried out a large amount of scientific research work in germplasm resource evaluation, cultivation techniques, essential oil extraction and deep processing technology, essential oil safety and function research, and the configuration technology of aromatic plants in health-care gardens, and has obtained the following major innovations: 1) It took the lead in establishing an evaluation system for aromatic plant germplasm resources. The project takes oil value as the main evaluation indicator, and integrates DNA molecular markers, essential oil chemical composition markers, and plant morphology markers to establish a germplasm resource evaluation system. An aromatic plant germplasm resource garden and an essential oil composition database were established. Germplasm resource evaluation work was carried out for three important domestic aromatic plants (rose, lavender, and mint), which solved the problems of confusion in naming varieties in planting bases and lack of scientific basis for the introduction of new varieties, and laid a foundation for innovation in plant germplasm resources. 2)Establish rapid propagation and efficient cultivation techniques for aromatic plants. By studying key technologies such as explant selection and medium hormone ratio for inducing axillary buds into seedlings, the problem of easy browning of medium in tissue culture of aromatic plants was solved, and it was the first in China to establish aromatic plants such as Litsea cubeba, lemon verbena, and Menshide lavender. Rapid propagation technology. Integrating greenhouse seedling raising, balanced fertilization method, overwintering, intercropping and other technologies, we have established efficient cultivation techniques for a variety of aromatic plants, which solves the problem that aromatic plants cannot be widely planted due to unsatisfactory oil content and quality of essential oils during the introduction process. 3)Develop equipment for extracting essential oils and plant water. Improve traditional distillation processes and equipment to significantly increase the extraction rate of essential oils. Innovatively invented a low-temperature negative pressure segmented distillation essential oil extraction device. This technology solves the problem of serious loss of the first fragrance of many precious flower aromatic plants during traditional atmospheric pressure steam distillation extraction, making the extracted essential oils closer to the natural fragrance. Aromatic plant water extraction and membrane filtration technology has been established to improve the aroma of plant water and solve the problems of microbial pollution and aroma change during storage. 4)Conduct research on the safety, function and mechanism of action of aromatic plant essential oils, and develop functional plant essential oil products and configuration technology of aromatic plants in health-care gardens. The project has established an evaluation system for the efficacy and safety of essential oils covering cellular, animal, and clinical levels, and selected more than 20 kinds of essential oils and active compounds with anti-anxiety, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and other effects; established essential oil microcapsule packaging technology, essential oil water-soluble preparation technology; established a configuration technology for aromatic plants to build health-care gardens. The project authorized a total of 7 patents, published 58 papers and 1 monograph. At present, the results have been applied to important aromatic plant planting and processing bases in Xinjiang, Hubei, and Shandong in my country, with an application area of more than 30,000 acres. Seven demonstration planting and processing bases have been established. The annual processing volume of essential oils and plants exceeds 100 tons and 5000 tons respectively; Cooperated with dozens of companies such as Iparkhan to develop more than 60 aromatic products; built 4 aromatic health gardens, including the country's first aromatic and fragrant garden, with a total area of more than 500 acres. In the past three years, the project has promoted the new output value of relevant units to exceed 266 million yuan, promoting the industrialization development of aromatic plants and integrating them into the general health industry.
