Researchers at the University of Queensland have developed a suite of high-performance materials that utilize calcium recycling for clean power generation that collects carbon dioxide. Calcium recycling uses a reversible reaction between carbon dioxide and carbon dioxide to capture, store and release carbon dioxide. This new adsorbent can be used in the post-combustion stage or the pre-combustion stage of power generation and consumes extremely low total energy (estimated consumption in the early stage of 6% - 8% and as low as 3 - 4% in the later stage).
