The scientific and technological field to which this project belongs is important animal disease detection and prevention and control technology. Animal disease prevention and control work is the basis for ensuring the healthy and sustainable development of the breeding industry and public health security. With the rapid development of China's economy, cooperation and exchanges with animals and their products from other countries have become more and more frequent, and animal epidemic prevention is facing a very severe new situation. In 2018, the outbreak of domestic African swine fever epidemic, the recurrence of the gangrene epidemic, and the frequent occurrence of highly pathogenic avian influenza epidemics in the world have always tested our prevention and control capabilities. At the same time, in the context of deepening customs clearance, promoting trade facilitation, and responding to trade barriers, it is urgent to establish appropriate inspection and quarantine technologies. In view of this, this project team conducted in-depth research on the detection, prevention and monitoring of diseases based on the actual needs of rapid detection, epidemic prevention and control and scientific early warning of major animal diseases. Main technical contents and innovation points: (1) Upgrading and standardization of molecular biology diagnostic technology. Four sets of high-throughput rapid detection methods have been established for 14 important pathogens such as avian influenza in animals and their products to achieve simultaneous detection of multiple pathogens in the same system, filling the gap in high-throughput detection; similar detection technologies have been standardized and formed. 15 industry standards have been promoted and applied; compared with traditional detection technologies, this technology is highly sensitive (increased by 2 orders of magnitude);(2) It promotes the diversification of domestic epidemic prevention methods. For the first time, recombinant bivalent/chimeric vaccine candidate strains against branch 2.3.4.4 and 2.3.2.1 H5 viruses and recombinant bivalent/chimeric vaccine candidates against branch 2.3.4.4 and H7N9 viruses were constructed using reverse genetics technology, providing technical support for the prevention and control of multiple types of avian influenza viruses; For the first time, we systematically studied the international regionalization models and measures for animal diseases, thereby establishing the basic models, technical measures and methods for implementing regionalization control of animal diseases in our country; improved traditional Chinese medicine technology, and developed for the first time two Chinese veterinary drugs with independent intellectual property rights. Immunization enhancer to establish a new prevention and control method for pig blue ear disease;(3) epidemic monitoring and early warning to fill gaps. The recent emergence of H5 variants in China was promptly detected, and the infection of highly pathogenic influenza virus with the H5 subtype in mammalian mink was successfully detected; and Toxoplasma gondii was successfully isolated from ducks for the first time, playing a scientific early warning role. This project has obtained 5 invention patents and 5 utility model patents authorized by the state; formulated 17 industry standards; compiled 6 papers; and published 44 papers, including 12 SCI papers. Promotion and application: (1) Completed legal testing and port monitoring of 100,000 batches of animals and their products at Shanghai Port, provided technical services to Dacheng Food (Dalian) Co., Ltd., Beijing Dejia Zhengcheng Livestock and Poultry Import and Export Co., Ltd., etc., earning US$11 million in foreign exchange. (2) The testing methods developed by the project have been widely used in animal prevention and control centers in many provinces and cities, ensuring the smooth development of local surveillance and timely investigation of the epidemic, and completing the testing of nearly 5000 batches of samples. (3) The Chinese veterinary drug immune enhancer and new prevention and control methods developed by the project have been promoted and applied in multiple breeding farms, which will help improve the disease resistance of livestock and poultry, provide technical support for disease prevention and promote healthy development of the industry. (4) Based on this project's epidemic-free technology, Shanghai has successfully held the world's highest-level equestrian obstacle race, improving its international status and promoting the local economy. (5) Relevant technical specifications, notices and monitoring plans of the Ministry of Agriculture and Shanghai Customs have adopted the research results of this project.
