Solution details

This project belongs to technological innovation in the field of automobile vibration and noise research and development.
Through systematic research on the vibration of the powertrain and transmission system and the response of the vehicle, a complete powertrain and vehicle vibration evaluation system and two-way delivery process have been created. The content involves rigid body vibration, overall bending vibration, and torsional vibration of the powertrain system. In conjunction with targeted mount development, body optimization, and acoustic package design, virtual development and evaluation of vibration and noise under different driving conditions are realized, guiding the powertrain. Independent development of the assembly establishes the forward development capability of NVH (vibration, noise and comfort) of the vehicle.
The outstanding results of this project include:

  1. A complete vibration evaluation system has been created and a two-way delivery process for the powertrain and the entire vehicle has been formed, providing technical support and system guarantee for the forward development of NVH.
  2. A systematic quantitative evaluation capability has been formed, and 28 evaluation contents and standards have been formulated, including 21 for powertrains and 7 for complete vehicles.
  3. Emphasize the active control of the powertrain vibration excitation sources, and propose corresponding optimization measures for combustion and balance strategies for the supercharging and fewer cylinders of the engine.
  4. The control and optimization technology of key transmission paths guides the integrated development of parts and systems, such as increasing the bending modal frequency of the powertrain by nearly 20Hz by adding brackets; achieving low-cost control of knocking noise risks through high-inertia flywheel design; Targeted optimization of the three-cylinder engine mounting system reduces seat vibration by 2 dB; optimization of the vehicle damping pad to achieve a weight reduction of up to 40%; optimization of the variable density front firewall acoustic package to achieve a weight reduction of more than 15%; and so on.
  5. Independently developed an efficient combustion torque load program to avoid the high cost of engineering outsourcing. At the same time, it realized fully automatic data collation, simulation analysis, and data formatting, and improved work efficiency by more than 70%.
  6. Apply for 10 related patents and publish 6 academic papers.
The comprehensive application of results not only saves costs and shortens development cycles, but more importantly, project risks are effectively controlled and generated considerable economic benefits.
The evaluation system has completed independent development of vibration integration for four engines (C14, C13VVT, C15VVT, and C14T) and five complete vehicles (New Sail, New Excelle, New Cruz, Angora, and Sail 3). It is playing a more far-reaching role in the independently developed global vehicle application platform for the new generation of three-cylinder engines.
This system is a general evaluation system developed based on the mechanism of vibration generation, transmission and response, and has good versatility and promotion value. This system fills the company's gap in the field of vibration development, enhances the competitiveness of independently developed products, and promotes the global application of Pan-Asia's new generation powertrain.
