Our country is the world's largest producer, consumer and exporter of yellow phosphorus. The production, sales and consumption of yellow phosphorus account for more than 80% of the world's total. 2500-3000Nm per ton of yellow phosphorus produced<sup>3</sup>Yellow phosphorus tail gas, with a CO content of as high as 85-95%, is a potential high-quality chemical raw gas; yellow phosphorus tail gas contains a large number of impurities such as phosphorus, sulfur, arsenic, and cyanide that harm the environment, corrode materials, and cause catalyst poisoning. It is also a typical toxic and harmful industrial waste gas in the field of air pollution prevention and control. This technology breaks through the key technical problems that restrict the pollution control and resource utilization of yellow phosphorus tail gas. Supported by projects such as the National 863 Plan and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, systematic research and development has been carried out from basic research, small scale test, pilot test to industrial application., established the low-temperature micro-oxygen catalytic oxidation purification theory of yellow phosphorus tail gas, developed a patented catalytic purification catalyst, and formed a complete set of technology for catalytic purification of yellow phosphorus tail gas; It has been authorized to have 20 invention patents, 7 utility model patents, published 8 academic monographs (translated works), and published more than 100 papers (25 published in SCI and 21 published in EI).
The technical achievements have been fully industrialized in the domestic yellow phosphorus industry, producing significant economic, environmental and social benefits, and a total of 1.1143 billion Nm of yellow phosphorus tail gas has been processed.<sup>3</sup>, a cumulative new output value of 710 million yuan, equivalent to saving 445,700 tons of standard coal and reducing CO emissions<sub>2</sub> 1.09 million tons, SO<sub>2</sub> 7354 tons, NO<sub>x</sub> 6953 tons. The technical achievements were selected into the "Implementation Plan for Cleaner Production Technology in the Yellow Phosphorus Industry" by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, becoming a recognized mainstream purification technology in the industry.
