Solution details

TOMTEX comes from collected waste shrimp, crab and lobster shells and scales to extract a biopolymer called chitin, which is combined with dyeing with a mixture of charcoal, coffee grounds and other ingredients. The material is then left in a completely smooth mold for curing, and the required finishes are made using a 3D printing process. This biodegradable material is strong and durable while maintaining sufficient softness to be sewn by hand or machine.
