This project belongs to the technical field of design and manufacturing of 300MW nuclear power full-speed condensing steam turbines.
Before the implementation of this project, the concepts of low-carbon emissions and green environmental protection were unanimously recognized and implemented globally. Judging from the development direction and market demand of nuclear power technology, in addition to the current development of large-scale nuclear power units, the development of modularity and small reactors (referring to nuclear island reactor types below 300MW) is also an important development direction of nuclear power technology. Especially after the Fukushima incident, the unique advantages of small reactors in terms of safety and economies of scale have become more attractive, and the development of 300MW nuclear power full-speed condensing turbines just provides a solid technical foundation for the development of small reactor nuclear power turbines. As the only commercial nuclear reactor with independent intellectual property rights in China at that time, it was urgent to develop a matching steam turbine unit with completely independent intellectual property rights, which could not only meet the needs of domestic nuclear power projects but also be free from export restrictions. Most of the original 300MW nuclear power units were produced and manufactured using steam turbine technology developed in the 1990s. Compared with existing steam turbines in actual operation in the power plant, this model has relatively low cylinder efficiency and its economy is not very good. It is necessary to develop a more economical and wider application range nuclear power full-speed condensing turbine with a truly 340MW output based on the 310MW nuclear power unit.

    Through the implementation of this project, the technical level of the nuclear power 300MW steam turbine of Shanghai Electric Power Station Equipment Co., Ltd. has been improved. Through flow optimization, without changing the basic interface size, a nuclear power full-speed condensing turbine with a rated output of 340MW has been designed and manufactured, enriching the product categories and better adapting to the different needs of users, thereby improving product competitiveness. So far, this series has received orders for 3 units, including Chassima#The two machines passed the acceptance in May 2011. In addition, there is Chassima#The two units of the 3rd and 4th unit projects are proceeding in an orderly manner.
