Key innovations
The innovation of this sludge chemical conditioning technology lies in using a low-cost, low-dose mixed agent (10% of the absolute dry sludge volume) to achieve deep dewatering of sludge (water content reduced to below 60%).
Potential economic benefits
Reduce the total cost of sludge treatment and disposal, eliminate the need to add auxiliary coal, low drug prices, and significantly save operating costs.
Potential climate benefits
There is no need to assist coal burning to directly reduce carbon emissions from the sludge incineration process. The reduction in sludge moisture content also reduces energy consumption for subsequent treatment and further achieves carbon emission reduction.

Solution details

Introduction to the results:

The sludge chemical conditioning and deep dewatering technology only needs to add a mixed dewatering agent of about 10% of the absolute dry sludge amount to the sludge. After mechanical pressure filtration, the moisture content of the sludge cake can be reduced from 80% to 60%. The combustion calorific value of absolute dry sludge drops by less than 10%. The subsequent sludge drying and incineration process does not require the addition of auxiliary coal, which greatly reduces the cost of sludge treatment and disposal. The reagent is cheap and has good conditioning effect. It is intended to be promoted in sewage treatment plants and sludge disposal units. The development and promotion of this technology will have broad prospects in Jiangsu and the whole country.

Outcome prospects:

This technology has been successful in deep dewatering of sewage sludge in cities such as Wuxi City, and has obtained a national invention patent.
