This project belongs to the field of communication technology.
With the expansion of network scale and the growth of network application demand, the first-generation Internet based on the IPv4 protocol faces many challenges such as lack of address space, limited mobility support, and many network security loopholes. As the scale of the Internet continues to expand, new network applications and Internet users continue to grow, Shanghai Telecom has carried out technical research, product development and existing network deployment of commercial IPv6 networks, and has achieved many innovative results:
1. Innovatively launch home gateway products that support multi-mode adaptive IPv6 to promote the substantive evolution of the next generation Internet: it is the first in the industry to formulate gateway specifications and launch products that support next-generation Internet technologies such as IPv4/v6 dual stack and DS-Lite, realizing The scale of the existing network is deployed, carrying IPv6-based Internet services, effectively promoting the evolution of telecommunications networks to the next generation Internet.
2. It was the first to formulate an IPv6 management model based on TR069 to realize remote management of IPv6: it was the first in the industry to formulate an IPv6 parameter model that supports various service models, providing remote control methods for IPv6 services, and ITMS developed and realized remote management capabilities for IPv6 services.
3. Comprehensively designed and implemented the IPv6 service deployment plan and activation process, realizing the scale deployment of IPv6 services: it is the industry's leading in formulating coverage device function verification, existing network equipment upgrade, background data expansion and synchronization, existing network IPv6 service activation, etc. Complete technical solutions and processes, and have been actually implemented on the existing network.
4. The DS-Lite-based transition technology was actually deployed and the network was actively migrated to IPv6 single stack: DS-Lite transition technology was deployed in the network, and key technologies such as authentication and address traceability in the DS-Lite transition scenario were developed., verified the technology of active network migration to IPv6, and enabled the active migration of metropolitan area network aggregation layer and core to IPv6.
5. It is the first to realize dual-stack upgrades of WiFi networks and mobile 3G networks, fully covering multiple user access methods: it is the first to implement an authentication platform based on dual-stack Portal, which can support access authentication and Internet access services for IPv4/v6 dual-stack WiFi users. At the same time, it realizes dual-stack integration of 3G mobile networks and supports dual-stack Internet access for Mobile device.
6. Innovatively proposed an Internet of Things application model based on lightweight IPv6, and established a future end-to-end Internet of Things Hub model based on IPv6: developed sensor node equipment, Internet of Things gateway, and application software platform based on lightweight IPv6. Direct access between IPv6 Internet-based applications and sensing hardware, as well as cross-IPv6 Internet access between sensing nodes is realized.
After the implementation of this project, Shanghai Telecom has completed IPv6 upgrades and renovations of home networks, access networks, metropolitan area networks and other networks at all levels, as well as home gateways, ITMS, BRAS, AAA, DNS and other related equipment and systems, covering 800,000 users. It has successfully established the image of Shanghai City as the "No. 1 City of Next Generation Internet Applications" and has played a good role in demonstrating and guiding the next generation Internet applications across the country and the entire industry, with remarkable social benefits. This project has published 12 papers and works, applied for 15 patents, submitted 4 international standard proposals, and formulated 4 corporate standards. With the development of the next generation Internet, this project will continue to produce greater and greater economic benefits. In 2013, the new output value reached 36.864 million yuan.
