Crop straw is a major part of agricultural waste. Our country's annual output of straw is 800 million tons. Most of it is burned and processed. It will not only seriously pollute the atmospheric environment, but also easily increase the incidence of traffic accidents, cause fires and other disasters, and seriously interfere with people's daily life. In addition, agricultural processing wastes, such as sugarcane bagasse, the main waste in the sugar industry, are also high-quality raw materials for the new material biorefinery technology system. The total output of sugarcane areas in southern China is more than 70 million tons, and the sugarcane bagasse produced every year is about 20 million tons. It has great utilization space and potential. However, due to technical limitations, most of the sugarcane bagasse is currently not effectively utilized, resulting in waste of resources and environmental pollution. The ban on burning and effective utilization of straw has always been a key concern of my country, and corresponding subsidy policies have been introduced for this purpose. However, due to the current extensive comprehensive utilization technology of straw, insufficient market power, and unclear prospects, it is difficult to fundamentally solve the problem.
This project uses original biorefinery technology to use crop straw and biomass crops to produce high value-added biological new material products and create a safe, environmentally friendly and high-quality biological new material industry. It is in line with national industrial policies and green development trends, and can solve the problem of wetland protection and straw burning while promoting the balanced development of regional ecology and economy, which has huge development potential and industry competitiveness. The application and promotion of the new material biorefinery technology system has found a way out for the consumption of crop straw. It can not only alleviate environmental problems, but also enhance the value of straw and apply it in high-end manufacturing, truly turning waste into treasure.
