Solution details

With the rapid development of the economy, the flow of traffic is increasing day by day, and the performance requirements of roads are getting higher and higher. Commonly used asphalt is easy to crack brittle at low temperatures and melt at high temperatures. When the moisture content is too high, it is easy to lose its resistance to sand and gravel. The adhesive force of base materials causes cracking or peeling on the road surface. In order to improve the performance of asphalt and improve its performance, asphalt is generally modified. The purpose of this project is to develop a process for modifying asphalt with papermaking waste in order to produce modified asphalt with good quality and low cost.

1. Core technology

The papermaking waste is crushed and mixed with waste tire powder, the papermaking waste is crushed to a particle size of 5-50 meshes, and the particle size of the waste tire powder is 10-60 meshes. Dry at 90-105℃ until the moisture content is below 10%, add it to the matrix asphalt heated to 120-160℃ under stirring, maintain strong stirring for 20-30 minutes, the stirring speed is 1000-3000r/min, and then add cross-linking agent (Sulfur-containing compounds, metal oxides, stearic acids, maleic acids), adding cross-linking agent, stirring again for 10-30 minutes, and finally subjecting the mixed material to high-speed shearing or colloid mill grinding to prepare the modified asphalt.

2. Innovation points

(1) This process uses papermaking waste and waste tire powder to modify asphalt, reducing the production cost of modified asphalt.

(2) This process is simple and easy to achieve large-scale production.

3. Intellectual property rights and industrialization

(1) This process is applying for a national patent.

(2) This process has been initially used and can produce modified asphalt on a small scale.
