With the country's emphasis on environmental protection and the increasing awareness of national environmental protection, as well as the formulation of laws and regulations to limit volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions, the technological development of the coatings industry is developing in the direction of environmental protection. For a long time, the industrial application of water-based environmentally friendly coatings has always been a bottleneck because the water-based resins and additives used in coating components cannot meet the performance requirements of industrial coatings. With the development of resin and additive technology for water-based industrial coatings abroad, the application of water-based coatings in the industrial field has gradually increased; domestic research in this area has just begun, and currently the resins and additives used in water-based industrial coatings mainly rely on imports and are expensive. In order to break foreign monopolies and obtain core technologies, it is particularly important and urgent to conduct research and development of resins and additives for water-based industrial coatings.
Focusing on the requirements of resins and additives for water-borne industrial coatings, the company has independently carried out self-emulsifying water-borne epoxy resin emulsions, water-borne hydroxy acrylic resins, sulfonate-based water-dilutable alkyd resins, water-borne dispersants and water-borne driers. Research work on key technologies. The main innovations of the project include: (1) For the first time, polypropylene glycol glycidyl ether, hexamethylene diisocyanate, and polyethylene glycol monomethyl ether were introduced into the main chain and side chains of epoxy resin through chain-extending grafting reactions. The prepared water-borne epoxy emulsion has a particle size of about 0.3μm, which overcomes the shortcomings of traditional water-borne epoxy emulsions (particle size of more than 3μm) with poor film forming and corrosion resistance in the industrial coating field. (2) Through molecular design and secondary dispersion synthesis technology, Cardura E-10p was successfully introduced as a reactive monomer in the acrylic acid polymerization process to prepare water-borne hydroxyl acrylic resin, realizing the water-borne acrylic resin under low acid value., the product has better water resistance and high gloss. (3) For the first time, 5-SSIPA, a monomer containing sulfonate groups, was condensed into a modified alkyd resin to prepare a water-dilutable alkyd resin with low acid value, which gave the coating film excellent water resistance and corrosion resistance. (4) For the first time, a polyacrylate polymer electrolyte was directly synthesized using a one-step process as a dispersant in water-based industrial coating systems. The dispersant can significantly reduce the secondary agglomeration tendency between pigment and filler particles and improve the pigment and filler particles in the coating. Dispersion and stability in the coating. (5) A series of alkyl acetoacetate complexing agents and alkyl metal acetoacetate complexes were innovatively synthesized and successfully used in water-borne oxidative cross-linked coating systems, breaking through the difficulties of traditional water-borne driers that are not resistant to hydrolysis and loss of drying, and solving the practical problems of poor compatibility between many existing water-borne driers and resin systems or poor storage stability.
The key technologies of water-borne resins and additives developed in this project have broken through the application problems of water-borne industrial coatings and filled domestic gaps. The water-based aircraft interior coatings developed from this technical achievement comply with Boeing's BMS10 -83 specifications and have been used in domestic aircraft interiors. They have become the only domestic supplier of water-based aircraft interior coatings, breaking the monopoly of major foreign companies in this field; the developed water-based series coatings have been applied in important enterprises such as Baosteel, Xidian Group, CIMC Group, and China National Heavy Duty Truck Group; The non-toxic and environmentally friendly water-based toy paint developed meets European EN-71 standards, and the toys produced are mainly exported to the EU and the United States.
A total of 25 invention patents have been applied for in this project, 13 of which have been authorized; 36 papers have been published and cited 60 times by others at home and abroad. The scientific and technological achievements of this project have been industrialized, with 5372 tons produced and sales revenue of 132.01 million yuan, improving the technical level of domestic water-based industrial coatings and promoting the development of the national coatings industry.
