

This project belongs to the mechanical discipline and the field of vehicle engineering.
With the development of China's economy and the improvement of national living standards, cars are gradually entering every family and serving as the main means of transportation. As the first choice for family cars, sales of A0 passenger cars are increasing year by year. In 2012 alone, sales reached 2.1971 million. Faced with such a huge market prospect, SAIC's own brand has combined its own development strategy to develop a new A0-class model tailored to customers as its primary goal.
This project is mainly aimed at the needs of domestic customers, with energy conservation, environmental protection, safety and reliability as important goals of project development, changing customers 'impression of A0-class cars and making them the first choice for family vehicles. First of all, this project places "green energy conservation, low carbon and environmental protection" as the key scientific research content and puts it at the top of the list. By using a series of scientific and technological measures including lightweight vehicle design, vehicle aerodynamic analysis and optimization, parameter matching between the powertrain system and the vehicle, advanced AMT technology application, low rolling resistance tires and vehicle E2A network current control technology application, the new MG3's energy-saving technology will be brought to the world's leading level. As a result, the fuel consumption per 100 kilometers of the vehicle under comprehensive operating conditions is only 5.9 liters, meeting the third-stage fuel consumption requirements required by the state four years in advance.
Secondly, this project is based on the principle of "people-oriented" and takes the safety performance of vehicles as the main development goal to change customers 'views on the poor safety performance of A0-class models. During the project development process, the engineering team innovatively developed and applied the advanced "V"-shaped forward development design concept, and used a large number of CAE virtual analysis technology in the early stage of vehicle design, which reduced the development risks in the later stage of the project. During the verification stage, the Trolley concept module was creatively introduced to verify the vehicle safety strategy. In the end, this project successfully passed the national five-star collision regulations and achieved a good score of 47.1 points, ranking first among all A0-class cars.
Thirdly, in order to improve the market competitiveness of the vehicle model, change the habitual thinking of "small car space", this project will improve the overall space efficiency of the vehicle as the development direction. During the project development process, the project team innovatively introduced the concept of "Man Maximum, Mechanism Minimum," which improved the space efficiency to the extreme on the premise of ensuring safety performance and was at the leading level among the same class models.
Finally, this project regards the young people after 80 as the main customer group. Therefore, in order to meet the customers 'pursuit of fashion avant-garde, this project regards modeling design as the special development demand. During the project development process, I-Style design elements were introduced into the vehicle modeling innovation, which was favored by young customers and obtained 46 appearance design patents.
From February 28, 2011 to December 2012, SAIC's brand new A0 car-new MG3 has successfully sold 60,300 complete vehicles, realized sales revenue of more than 3.6 billion yuan, and increased profits of 138 million yuan, generating good economic benefits for enterprises and the country. The development of the new MG3 has created an A0 model with independent intellectual property rights, with 2 software copyrights, 89 patents (including 74 authorizations), and 89 papers published. It has improved the overall level and independent R & D capabilities of Shanghai and China's automobile industries, and played a huge role in promoting the development of China's automobile industry.
