

This project belongs to the field of special functional polymer materials and mainly involves special processing and manufacturing technology of high-performance polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) breathable membranes. PTFE membrane can form a unique ldquo; fiber-nodule structure through a special stretching process. The micropores formed between ldquo; fibers rdquo; give it excellent waterproof, breathable and dustproof functions. As a special fluorine-containing material with high added value, PTFE breathable membrane has been widely used in medical, aerospace, environmental protection, textiles and clothing, new energy and industry and other fields. For example, PTFE breathable membrane products can be used in automotive lamps and sensors. However, at present, PTFE waterproof and breathable products for car lights mainly rely on imports, the core technology is strictly confidential, and the product cost is very high. It is extremely important to localize core products through joint research and development and innovation among industry, academia and research parties. Only in this way can we avoid the recurrence of the ZTE dilemma and prevent our enterprises from being controlled by others, thereby achieving sustainable development. Based on this, this project takes East China University of Science and Technology as the lead unit, and joins hands with Danyang Kerr Precision Electronics Co., Ltd., Shanxi Funuo New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. and Shanghai University of Applied Technology to tackle key problems. Starting from the source of PTFE raw materials, it adopts controllable polymerization technology, modified blending technology, particle size and morphology control agglomeration technology, efficient bonding technology and precise control of key steps and conditions of the mechanical stretching process. It has successfully developed PTFE breathable membrane products for car lights that have reached the level of imported products and achieved industrialization. At the same time, a series of distinctive PTFE breathable components were designed and developed. It has been promoted and applied in many models such as Geely, Volkswagen, Chevrolet and Changan, which has increased the service life of the lights by about three times. The lights are not fogged and have excellent visual effects. The key innovation points are as follows: (1). Controlled polymerization technology: The localization technology of ultra-high molecular weight PTFE (molecular weight is not less than 80 million) has been developed, with original innovations in efficient reactor structure, polymerization formula, etc.;(2) Co-coagulation technology: Using self-designed coagulation complete equipment, co-coagulation between PTFE and filler particles is achieved, ensuring the quality uniformity of the final breathable membrane. The production process is economical, practical, low-cost, and suitable for industrial production;(3). Stretch technology of breathable films: The key steps and conditions in the mechanical stretching process and the laws of film pore structure and performance are clarified, and the deformation and mechanical mechanisms of the films are combined with finite element simulation. The aperture size and aperture shape are controllable, thereby effectively ensuring the waterproof and breathable properties of the membrane;(4) Bonding and design of the breathable membrane and other breathable components: solves the problem of bonding between the two. The unique patented technology has the advantages of simple operation, fast and cost-effective. The structure of the overall breathable device is designed from the sealing and opening positions, solving the complex application problem of PTFE breathable devices. The project's core technology has been authorized for 5 patents and 3 core patents have been applied for, completely changing the dilemma of relying on foreign imports. The project was finalized and mass-produced in Danyang Kerr Precision Electronics Co., Ltd. in September 2015. In the past three years, new sales have increased by more than 78 million yuan. The project's ultra-high molecular weight PTFE technology has been industrialized in Shanxi Funuo Company. In the past three years, new sales have increased by approximately 110 million yuan. At the same time, the core technology of the project, namely controllable co-coagulation technology, has been expanded to the development of high-end PTFE-coated cables for aerospace. Currently, it has cooperated with Tongguang Group, a domestic listed company (a major supplier of special optical cables and cables) to develop ldquo; PTFE seamless wrapped cables for large aircraft rdquo;, subsequent series of technical research will surely promote the application of products in higher-end fields. To sum up, the technical economic benefits of this project are significant and the social benefits are obvious.
