Application areas:
High-speed dynamic electro-optical modulation devices in the fields of modern optical fiber communications, laser technology, and national defense strong light protection
Technical characteristics:
Transparent electro-optic ceramics represented by lead lanthanum zirconate titanate (PLZT) and lead lanthanum titanate magnesium niobate (PLMNT) exhibit visible light~The near-infrared wavelength range has high optical transmittance and a variety of excellent electro-optical effects (electronically controlled birefringence effect, electronically controlled light scattering effect, etc.). It can achieve high-speed electro-optical modulation of incident light and has fast response speed (nanosecond order), low driving voltage (about one-tenth of that of active lithium niobate single crystal), and can be used as core materials for high-speed electro-optical modulators such as optical switches, optical attenuators, and optical isolators.
Performance indicators:
Optical transmittance Tmax:~99% (l: 1064nm, antireflection film);
Optical uniformity △n: £5 x10-5;
Electro-optical coefficient r: (1 ~10) x10-16 (m2 /V2)
Light scattering angle q: 7~18º
Current status:
In Jiading Park, Shanghai, it has a complete electro-optic ceramic preparation equipment and technical system, and an electro-optic modulation dynamic and static performance testing and evaluation platform. It is the only unit in China that can produce and provide high-quality transparent electro-optic ceramics. It has long been responsible for electro-optic ceramics for national defense models. Production tasks, cooperation with Shanghai Institute of Optics and Mechanics, Wuhan Institute of Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology and other scientific research institutes to carry out applied research. It has authorized 6 patents on electro-optic ceramics and formulated 1 industry standard.
